ASM Signature Definitions

I manage ASM for a customer. Some of my customers are a little new to the ASM and would like a resources such as a website or PDF that defines what each ASM signature is looking for. They want the same basic information on a signatures details that we see when we look at a signature in the ASM but we do not want to have to create an account for each CERT user on our F5's.

  • F5 ASM signatures are not viewable, editable or modifiable by end users.

The resource you are looking for does not exist outside the product. This information is proprietary to F5 Networks.

  • Each attack signature's properties page (see Security ›› Options: Application Security: Attack Signatures: Attack Signature List ›› Attack Signature Properties) has a link to the signature's documentation. Click the "View" link to see this information. Regrettably, there does not appear to be a compendium of this data, possibly because different software versions may have different collections of attack signatures
