AppleWebKit Cookie persistence

We have some problems to store cookies on AppleWebKit browsers. The problem is good described here http://eng.orcadigital.com/safari-ate-my-cookie/ . The iRule code is as the folows:

 

HTTP::cookie insert name $::cookie_name value $hostaddr path "/" version "1"

 

The cookie works on IE, Firefox and Chrome. But not on AppleWebKit browsers. Is there a possibility to use HTML5 localStorage to store information on client side?
