APM and Sharepoint

I have Sharepoint configured behind a virtual server and would like to add an access profile to this VS for authentication and rewrite the url as I plan on exposing this to the internet. My question is if I click on a link like mysharepoint.com/home.site/page.aspx externally can APM present its logon page then redirect me to the exact path I originally requested? Kind of like how a wifi portal does this at a hotel or something similar.
