Android only two certificates intermediate and server

i assume you are connecting to a virtual server with a ssl client profile?

how do you determine the android sees something else then the ios device?

have you run ssllabs server test against the virtual server? what does it show?

in general you don't send root certificates to clients it should have it in the store, but a browser might show it as if it is send.
