AFM L7 DDoS Protection versus ASM L7 DDoS Protection

Dear all, AFM was marketed to defend against L3 to L7 DDoS attacks. The confusion here is ASM also has L7 DDoS protection. I believe the L7 DDoS protection from ASM is more towards web-attacks while AFM's L7 is more on non-web traffic such as FTP?

I was hoping for a clearer definition of Layer 7 DDoS attack protection particularly in the context of AFM and ASM.

Thank you to all!
