adfs requirements
Hi,
i'm an infrastructure analyst and i'm deploying an ADFS 3.0 server farm with two server proxies and two backend server. Between proxies and backend ADFS server we have F5 Big-IP without APM module. Is it mandatory for the support of the solution implementing APM module over Big-ip?
Thanks in advance, Marco

I just started designing a similar environment. My understanding is that would certainly be supported. APM would just give you an additional layer of authentication/proxy protection in front of the ADFS proxies. Our environment is a mixture of on prem Exchange mailbox servers, with CAS servers that I will be using APM to protect, having APM check with ODS (Oracle's LDAP) before proxing the users connection inbound to the CAS servers. I will be using APM as a reverse proxy in front of Lync servers. We are also planning on having some users with mailboxes in the cloud, with ADFS providing the authentication for that, ADFS proxies in the dmz, ADFS backend servers. Not yet sure I can or should be using APM in front of ADFS.
