Add-on Key disruption to traffic
I have a couple of production LTM boxes running in active/standby....version 11.6.1 HF2. Also have APM provisioned for testing but not yet licensed.
When I add the add-on key to license APM can I expect any disruptions to my prod LTM traffic/connections?
I take it..yes as per the following https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K7752
Just wanted to confirm.
Also, would it be worth failing over to the standby once the license has been entered on it before entering the license on the active. Or is traffic disruption hardly noticeable when adding a license? I'm not using mirroring.
Thanks, Jordan

The configuration is reloaded when (after) adding the add on-key. This may cause disruption to services, depends on what kind of services you have configured and how busy those are. So consider to do it at a quiet time. Anyway, I suggest to apply the add-on the license first to the standby unit. Then do a failover, check that all is ok and traffic continues. After that apply the second add on key to the new standby. Finally fail back.
