If you use APM (And I think yo), you don't need to enter the domain in the login logon page. You only have to put the user (cn / samaccountname) + PWD.
If you want to remove the domain, you can do it easly (Please check the post of stanislas):

if you want APM remove domain name before authentication, check split domain from username box in logon page properties
