active/stndby to act/act question

is there any KB that shows how to make an active/passive scenario to active/active?

what will be the impact?

  • As far as I know the only way to have an active/active pair on F5 is to have 2 separate traffic groups, each ideally containing half of your Failover Objects.

Traffic group 1 would have device A as Active and device B as Standby

Traffic group 2 would have device B as Active and device A as Standby

So to transition from Active/Standby to Active/Active, you'd need to first create another traffic group using Failover Method "HA Order," then cutover half of your Failover Objects to the other traffic group during a maintenance window. But Active/Standby is the preferred/recommended approach... Not sure about a KB for this either.
