1st iRule does not execute unless some time has gone by
1st iRule does not execute unless some time has gone by
We have 7 iRules on a VIP. The first time everything works fine, but if you don't wait at least 10-15 seconds the first iRule isn't executing.
If we wait about 10-15 seconds or longer the 1st iRule is executing.
Has anyone come across this situation ?

Could you please provide more information on this.
You said you had to wait 10-15 seconds for 1st iRule to work but you dint explain after which step you had to wait?
How did you determine its not working for first 10-15 seconds?
Please also provide which commands/events is the iRule is using?

The first iRule is a sitedown iRule ... it redirects the session to a site down page. Normally it would go to the login page.
With the iRule set to go to a site down ... When going to that URL, it works and shows the sitedown page, but if you reload the same URL before 10 to 15 seconds, it bypasses that iRule, gets no log entries, and goes to the login page ....
If you wait at least 15 seconds, the site down page is shown.

IF possible, can you sanitize the iRule to remove any confidential info from iRule and past it here for review.
It would be worth checking which events you are using and when they would trigger.

I guess the irule contains command like event disable. next L7 requests in the same TCP connection will bypass the HTTP_REQUEST event.

The solution was to also add a default pool in the irule.
