7 TopicsPartially reachabilty issues with VS in F5OS tenant
As preparation of our service migration from iSeries to rSeries, we created a test-VS without a pool, but with an iRule responding with a simple static html-website. This works fine so far, but we must notice, that sometimes this VS is not reachable in the F5OS tenant. For now we could at least identify that the issue seems to be on the border between F5OS and tenant, because we see incoming packets with tcpdump on F5OS level, but they will not be forwarded into the tenant, because with the tcpdump there it's missing. Is this behavior related to the VS type of just using an iRule or is there something wrong/corrupt in our configuration? How can I further verify/troubleshot this, once the issue occurs again? Or which settings should I double check? We want to be sure to have the correct basic setup available, before migrating the first productive VS to the new platform. For your reference, we are using route domains in combination with partitions within the tenant. So we created the VLANs on F5OS level, then deleted them in the Common partition in the tenant and then re-created them again with the same name, but in the correct partition/route domain. And finally created the selfips within the partition/route domain within the tenant. F5OS: 1.8.3EHF1, TMOS: 17.5.1.3 Thank you! Regards, StefanSolved70Views0likes4Commentsr4600 Tenant CPU Assignment
The r4600 has 12 CPUs (by default) available for a max of 2 tenants. My initial thought was to assign 6 CPUs to each but that is not an option. 4, 8, or 12 are the only options. Question: Are these options of 4, 8, or 12 CPUs arbitrary or do they have to do with the Atom chip architecture? It seems like a waste. I can either do 4 CPUs each wasting 4 or do a 4 CPU tenant and an 8 CPU tenant. The only other option would be to purchase the license for the additional 4 CPUs to make each tenant 8 CPU. Hello guys, we are approaching a migration from a vCMP cluster to a Tenant ( on r5600 ) cluster . VLAN/Networks betweeen old and new nodes will be the same and the migration will be VIPs based ( not every vs at once ). I was wondering if it is possible to add Tenant nodes to the already vCMP device group so that we can continue to have a synced configuration during the migration . Has anyone ever configured a mixed device group with vCMPs and Tenants running on r-series ? thank you in advance376Views0likes2CommentsF5OS missing interfaces in tenant
Hello, I'm totally new to F5OS, I'm configuring a rSeries 2600 (1.5.1-12283) and deploying a tenant (BIG-IP 15.1.5.1 Build 0.0.14 Point Release 1). All seemed to work perfectly fine both in the host and the tenant deployments, but looking at the interfaces section on the tenant the list is totally empty! And in VLAN properties the "interface" section is missing. I assigned VLAN's to interfaces in the Network Settings at F5OS level - would it be by design that the interfaces are no longer showed in the tenant ? I tried to find info in the doc with no results... Any info/help would be more than welcome :-) Thanks & have a good day, Gerald719Views0likes3CommentsHow to add VLAN in tenant on F5r2600 running F5OS?
Hi I have F5 r2600 running F5-OS 1.3.x and we deploy 1 tenant (BIG-IP 15.x) We want to add a new VLAN on this tenant. But I think I heard that we need to assign VLAN on F5-OS (Host/Hypervisor) instead of create on BIG-IP tenant Is that correct? How to add VLAN in tenant on F5r2600 running F5OS? Thank youSolved2.2KViews0likes2Comments
