npath
4 TopicsIs nPath still practical?
Hi We want to use F5 LTM to load balance local DNS server. We have F5 LTM implement as one-arm topology but we need to preserve source IP for DNS traffic. = No SNAT. So I check and find that there is DNS load balance with nPath. But it's a bit old document and I didn't have any experience with it. Is LTM using nPath deployment to load balance microsoft DNS server practical? Kridsana599Views0likes6CommentsDirect Server Return (nPath) and Cisco ACI
Hello, Anyone familiar with a F5 nPath configuration attached to a Cisco ACI environment? In the past, we have configured nPath on a F5 LTM in a traditional Layer 3 network which worked fine. But now the F5 appliance is connected to a Cisco ACI environment and we are seeing strange behavoir within ACI. VS and pool members are on different subnets and VLAN's and we believe that is causing the problem. Cisco ACI is seeing the IP-address of the VS on the VLAN in which the pool members are located. In a traditional network this is no problem, but Cisco ACI does not accept that. Is there a best practice that says VS and pool members must be in the same VLAN when using Cisco ACI and nPath? The F5 knowledge base articles all tell me this is not needed in a traditional network setup. Regards, Martijn.499Views0likes1CommentnPath routing in L3 setup
Hi, We like to setup a configuration with use of nPath routing (Direct Server Return). Client , server and BIG-IP are connected on different interfaces of the same layer3 router. Just like the "Layer 3 nPath routing example" described in document https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/ltm-implementations-11-1-0/6.html The poolmember server is Windows 2008 and cannot deal with IPIP of GRE tunnels as described in the document. Is there an alternative perhaps that I overlooked? regards, DevP.270Views0likes2CommentsHow to configure transparent SMTP monitor
