F5 - Planning to Performance Test the F5 - Big IP from scratch using JMeter.
Hi Everyone - I have been given a task to performance test the F5 - big IP. Have never done that before so I have a few questions. The tool that I am planning to use is JMeter. We have nothing yet, we will have to create the entire lab before testing can be done. The focus is to test the F5. Has anyone done that, any ideas where to begin since like I mentioned, we have nothing yet. We will be starting from literally scratch, build the JMeter infrastructure to be able to test the F5. Install F5 on the client machine so that It can generate load that will be pushed to F5 and F5 will obviously load balance it to the server pool. We want to capture different F5 metrics. Its all conceptual right now but has anyone done any of that?
iRule test & analysis tool
I'm looking for an iRule analyzer that would allow testing simple traffic scenarios independent of configuring a BIG-IP device. The user would specify values for system variables such as [HTTP:uri] and [HTTP:cookie] and the analyzer would output rewrite url and name of pool routed to , or redirect url , etc. Also would be nice if the tool would also analyzed the iRule for optimum code and performance load testing
