Hi We are using F5 DNS as DNS server and have many CNAME record. We want to query those CNAME record and then get IP as a result too. (Which solved by Enable "recursion yes; in named configuration) But we found problem that our F5 DNS perform recursion on EVERY domain client asking. (eg. f5.com, nginx.com., etc.) We want F5 DNS to answer query on only domain we handle (many domain in zonerunner and gslb) How can we do that? Is it possible to do that? because "recursion yes;" is config on named configuration. I think it's global configuration. and "allow-recursion {}" is only check for client IP address (it's not check on domain we handle) Thank you37Views0likes3CommentsIPhones work on WiFi but cannot resolve IP using ATT data network.
Does anybody had issues with iPhone and ATT using CNAME. We delegate wip.company.com to GTM and use CNAME for a website. It works with Android, Windows, Linux, etc., IPhones and Ipads work on WiFi but cannot resolve IP using ATT data network. Android on ATT works without issues. Is it Apple bug or I missed something in GTM settings? See dig example bellow dig www.company.com www.company.com. 3600 IN CNAME www.wip.company.com. www.wip.company.com. 300 IN A 200.200.200.200178Views0likes0CommentsCNAME redirection to GTM certificate SAN requirement
Hello All, If we are using a CNAME record to redirect DNS request to the listener on the GTM / DNS module, does the server certficate have to include both the original FQDN and the FQDN referenced by the CNAME? I do not believe so, but I have need asked to quadrule check this. Often Internet sites use CNAME DNS records to redirect trafifc to content delivery netowrks like Akaimi, and I doubt the end site will need to include the Akaimi FQDN or wildcard domain in the end server certificate. The web browser will still show the orignl FQDN in the URL bar and not the CNAME FQDN name. Regards, MichaelSolved1KViews0likes2CommentsCan GTM redirect URL using cname?

Hi From this guide https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip-dns/manuals/product/bigip-dns-implementations-12-0-0/6.html What the result of this guide? I've configured it and I found nothing happen. (May be I config it wrong) From my understanding, When user enter URL "oldcompany.com" , F5 will return CNAME "; But in browser, URL can't possibly change to "; , Am I correct? So how can F5 really redirect to new URL "; when access URL "oldcompany.com"? Thank you374Views0likes2CommentsIs CNAME really a redirect method ?
Is CNAME really a redirect method ? We have CNAME record like this. [ a.example.com IN CNAME b.login.aws.com ] and b.login.aws.com is also CNAME of s3-website-west-1.amazonaws.com When We enter URL "b.login.aws.com" in browser. It's working fine. But When We enter URL "a.example.com" in browser. It's show 404 error and Code: NoSuchBucket error. Can CNAME redirect URL which we input to another URL? If not, Can GTM help this case? or I need to config webserver to handle a.example.com. Thank you300Views0likes2Comments
