auto failback
2 TopicsManual vs Auto Sync
Hi we've had F5s in our organisation for a while now. Just recently we've developed some automation scripts that use the REST interface to the LTM module. Our problem is that our F5 HA pairs are currently manually synced. We'd like to turn on auto sync so that we can fully automate our changes but there has been some resistance within the organisation. My questions are... What are other people doing in this situation? Is auto sync viewed as an evolution of the F5 capability or just another feature available for use where appropriate? What barriers are there to transitioning from manual to auto sync?362Views0likes1CommentAuto Failback Disabled But Still Happening
Hello All, I have two 4200V LTMs running version 11.2.1 Build 1225.0 in an HA pair. They are setup in one arm mode and utilize one traffic group for failover objects (VIPs, SNATs, Self IP). Last night I applied a hotfix - I applied the hotfix to the standby unit (002) and rebooted it. I was unable to force to standby the active unit (001), which after doing some research learned that that feature isn't functional in an HA setup -> http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/14000/500/sol14515.html. So I shutdown the links to the active unit (001) and it then went standby and the standby unit (002) went active. After upgrading 001 and then re-enabling the links the 001 unit immediately went active. On the traffic group configuration I do not have Auto Failback enabled but do have the 001 unit set as the default device. Is there anyway to prevent the 001 unit from immediately going active or is there a better approach to force it to standby as opposed to shutting down the links? Brian256Views0likes2Comments
