Hi everyone, I am an MIS and Network Engineering student currently studying Layer 4-7 application delivery, traffic management, and load balancing architectures. I deployed a BIG-IP Virtual Edition (VE) instance in my virtual home lab on EVE-NG for educational and hands-on practice. However, when I try to request a trial key via the <a href://my.f5.com>MyF5</a> portal, the system requires an existing corporate customer account and automatically rejects my request. Could someone please assist or guide me on how to obtain a 30-day evaluation / trial Registration Key for my educational lab instance? Thank you in advance for your support and time. Best regards,
Hello @Mert06252
All licenses are handled directly through our sales team. Please reach out and they will be able to assist with the proper license for a lab instance.
Thanks for joining out community!
Thanks for your patience @Mert06252

but between the lines there is a fair question
Why is email (corporate?) verification required for trial/eval licenses?
That’s a reasonable question and I am happy to explain our understanding of the current policy.
The guidance towards the Sales team is not intended to restrict access to students or independent learners. It is part of the validation process used for certain trial licenses and helps ensure compliance with licensing, export, fraud-prevention, and related operational requirements. The Sales team is well equipped to handle most complaince procedures.
That said, I have an open question to some F5 Resources on Education.f5.com asking about processes documented on their site. Including this guidance provided by @Quiroman81 on another recent post: Requesting assistance with BIG-IP VE Lab Trial Registration (No Corporate Email)
When I hear more about that I’ll circle back and try to close the loop on this question. In the meantime, your experience and constructive input is welcome.
That post was removed for two reasons. Neither reason alone is sufficient but taken together they crossed the threshold where the moderation action was appropriate.

Hostile or aggressive commentary.
DevCentral exists so practitioners can help practitioners. We expect discussions to remain respectful, even when someone takes issue with a policy, product decision, process, or explanation. See DevCentral Community Guidelines for more complete guidance. -
The account was registered with a disposable email domain.
That does not align with the trust model we expect from community participants. Privacy through email & obfuscated email, etc is fine. The DevCentral team actively protects that right and we do not currently monitor for disposable/OTU email addresses.
