I’ve built a couple iApps LX extensions this year, on on versioning iRules and the other on performance optimization with iRules tracing capabilities. This guide is a summary of the iterative process in progressing from idea to working solution, and will be useful out of the gate should you decide to build your own. Just add this markdown file to your AI session and prompt away.
# Building iApps LX Extensions with Claude — A Planning & Lessons-Learned Guide
*Derived from building **Rülbased** (iRule version control, built in claude.ai)
across seven completed phases plus HA design work, and **Rültracer**
(an iRules execution debugger/profiler visualizer, built in Claude Code)
across eight completed phases. Intended to help you scope, plan, and
execute a new iApps LX project without repeating mistakes already made.*
