How to check Health Status of BIG-IP LTM

We are using BIG-IP LTM in our production environment. I am asked to submit "health check report" of the device on weekly basis. I am a bit confused in "Monitors , QKview, and Statistics"

What should I use to check the health of the device. What is the recommended and best way to report about health status?

Keeping in mind, the devices are in production so we cannot afford any downtime.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Yes QKView will provide you tons of Information about the health of the Box.

  • Thank you amolari,

Do you think I should use QkVIEW to check the status of the device. I have read that if we create QKVIEW and import it on iHEALTH then it can give lot of information ?

  • do you have a snmp monitoring solution in place? If so I would configure it to get

    • hardware status (fan, cpu, mem, disk usage)
    • network status (interface drops, errors, bytes in/out..)
    • services status (num. of connections/requests history, ssl transactions,...)

If you need help to set that up, have a look at the "TMOS Operation guide" (on ask.f5.com)
