Offline (Enabled) - The children pool member(s) are down
Hi Friends, I am novice to F5 and following CBT Nuggets to understand LTM in a better way. I have completed basic configuration i.e defined Nodes, defined Pool and assigned Pool Members to my Pool. Now the problem is that I have enabled "http" health monitor and right after I click 'finished' the icon Transitions from 'Blue Square' to 'Rectangle Red' - Offline(Enabled) - The children pool member(s) are down when I hover over the Pool in 'Pool List'. Now this is a very basic setup with 3 .OVA web servers pre configured which I received in my Nuggetlabs. I am able to login to the servers using my browser, telnet 10.2.0.11 80 and curl http://10.2.0.11 commands but the Servers are showing as Offline(Enabled) - Pool member has been marked down by a monitor in 'Members' list. I need your help to proceed further please. Thanks in advance, SagarSolved8.3KViews0likes10CommentsInterfaces uninitialized?
I am testing the VE in both Vmware ws 7 and Virtualbox. Unfortunatly with the same result. I can't get the interfaces to work. I have added them as host only but the interfaces show up as "UNINITIALIZED" and without a mac address. I can't see that I get any connectivity at all on the interfaces. The release notes mention UNINITIALIZED but that it should work anyway.4KViews0likes18CommentsIP stickiness on F5 with round-robin
Hi, I am experiencing the IP stickiness on my F5 Virtual Edition, while it is supposed to do round-robin. I have a web page reflecting the server's IP. I always gets the response from the same server while making multiple consecutive requests via the browser. However, it does round-robin for the requests that are coming from across different clients, but each client always gets response from the same server. I am using a BIG-IP 11.5.1 Build 0.4.110 Virtual Edition on Amazon EC2. I set it up as the one-ip topology, which has only one network interface (in addition to the management interface) serving both the incoming/outgoing traffic. This is because we have our clients and servers in the same subnet. The Virtual Server is using the default http profile, SNAT: Auto Map, One Connect Profile: None, Default Persistence Profile: None, Load Balance Method: Round-robin, Priority Group Activation: Disabled, I wonder if I need to overwrite some default configuration to turn off the IP stickiness/persistence. Any suggstions will be appreciated. Thanks, HongdiSolved2.6KViews0likes3CommentsHow to rename a vcmp guest?
Hello, I am in a situation where I need to change the guestname of a vCMP guest. Changing the hostname of the guest can be done easily. However changing the guestname appears tricky. I can see the guest name is defined on bigip.conf on the vCMP host. If I change the guest name on bigip.conf, then do a "bigstart restart vcmpd" would this update the guest name? Also the question is would restarting vcmpd cause an outage for the other guests that are running on the host? Many thanks for any suggestions, CK2.5KViews0likes9CommentsReceiving error when connecting to Citrix Receiver for external use.
I am more of Citrix person, than F5, but we are trying to deploy Citrix Receiver to all domain based endpoints. We are using Xendesktop 7.6 and StoreFront 2.6.0.5031 with a single FQDN Certificate. Internally works fine using Receiver for Web and Citrix Receiver GUI - SSO. However externally won't work correctly with Citrix Receiver, but works fine with Receiver for the Web with Pass-through. We have an F5 and are using the latest iApp. We are using the icaclient ADM Template for all domain based machines and have setup Storefront Account to https://storefront.company.com/Citrix/Store/discovery;on;Description (example). We enabled pass-through authentication = Enabled, Allow pass-through authentication for all ICA connections = Enabled in the GPO. The error we receive in Citrix Receiver when trying to refresh apps externally is "Your apps are not available at this time. Please try again in a few minutes or contact your help desk with this information. Cannot contact (store). It appears its not communicating back to the F5 at all. Citrix mentions its something not configured correctly on the F5 and they can't support it. I am curious if anyone else has run into the issue and how to fix? Let me know if you need more information. Thanks!2.1KViews0likes7CommentsVirtual Server returning empty response
Hi, I have setup LTM VE on my laptop with a single virtual server and a single pool with two backends. My pool is up and running and http health checks are ok. When I configure my virtual server as type='Performance (HTTP)' I can connect to my virtual server from the browser and get a normal response. When I change the virtual server type to 'standard' (with defaults) then the first request go fine (new type not applied yet?) but after a few requests I start getting empty responses. In firefox this is show as an blank page and google chrome returns ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE. There is no logging in the BIG-IP log and I seen no entries in the application server logs so it appears that the request are not forwarded by the BIG-IP. Any idea what I am doing wrong? regards, Richard2.1KViews0likes1CommentF5 BIG-IP LTM VE with VMware Workstation or VirtualBox
Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out with the network configuration of the f5 BIG-IP VE on either Vmware Workstation or VirtualBox. I was able to get it up and running. However there are 3 virtual interfaces that come with it. I'm not sure what virtual interface in either VMware or VBox is associated to what interface on the f5 ltm. The three are Adapter 1 Bridged, Adapter 2, Internal Network, Adapter 3 bridged. I guess what I am asking is which is the front side, which is the backside and which is management? If there's anyone with any experience in getting one of these running I would appreciate the help. I am just trying to set up a little virtual lab for educational use. I work with them but it is all remote work. Having one always accessible as a lab would be a great educational tool. I want to setup my CAS array (NLB) send connector going to the BIP-IP LTM as a virtual IP, what else must i configure to route the SMTP traffic outbound. Must the Virtual server members be the external mail servers ? Can it work in this configuration to replace a Symantec Messaging Gateway, obviously two different appliances i understand, but more so just sending outbound mail across i want to load balance the SMTP going outbound from the connector. Thanks for your answers.1.8KViews0likes2Comments
