big-ip ltm 12.1
6 TopicsDNS requester default domain
Hi Devcentral, I have just configured a new VS to use as a proxy server using the http-explicit profile. Everything works fine except for one kind of request. When a user asks for an internal web site without using the FQDN. In this case the 'DNS-Resolver' in the LTM configuration will ask the DNS for this hostname adding just a .(dot) at the end as if it was a top-level domain. In my case, I would like to be able to add a default domain to search from. For example, when a user browses for i'd like the 'DNS-resolver' to ask for "intranet.local." instead of just "intranet." The "DNS Search Domain List" in the System›Configuration>Device>DNS is configured but seems to be used only by the linux/mgmt part of the big-ip not by the LTM. So I have wondering if there is a hack for that because I can't find it in the GUI. Please let me know. Regards, Stephane208Views0likes0CommentsHow Destination persistence works?
Basically I don’t get which dst is would be used. The one on the vs or the ip of the pool members after auto map? And how will a client ever get the same pool dst ip for the persistence to work if a load balancing algorithm would be executed before choosing the pool members?289Views0likes1CommentDHCP Relay not forwarding traffic
I'm Testing DHCP relay on our F5. I have followed the following guide. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/ltm-implementations-11-1-0/23.html Host Network range is 10.10.0.0/24 VLAN55 DCHP servers are on 10.11.0.0/24 LAN56 10.11.0.3 and 10.11.0.7 When setting up the Virtual Server I had to change the source from 255.255.255.255 too 0.0.0.0. Hi, I have question with HTTP Compression profile. My LTM running on 12.1.2 where HTTP Compression enable on one of the Virtual Server serving web requests. Web administrator requested us to perform compression on LTM for specific URI only so we added few URI in list. i.e. URL is , we have added /test in URI List. Content Compression is selected as "Not Configured". So my question is Whether compression works on not? If it works, it will compress all the content type served under /test/* ? How LTM behaves for content already received from server in compressed form? Very limited knowledge with compression hence need some inputs. I have read F5 online article but still need some clarification. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/ltm-profiles-reference-11-6-0/3.htmlunique_1659057140 Thanks in advance. We purchased 2 new i4000's. I would like to migrate my configuration, including virtual servers etc from the old units running 11.6.1 to the new units running 12.1.2. I would like to migrate my ASM security policies as well. Is there a way to do this? When I try using the platform-migrate option I see: Installing configuration... ERROR: Module ASM is invalid for platform-migrate mode. Only LTM and GTM are supported. Is there a way to do what I would like to do?195Views0likes1CommentiRule to change base href="http:// to base href="https://
