We have reactivated the license on both the active and standby devices. We could see that both the licensed and service check-in dates were updated on the active device. However, only the service check in date is updated on standby. How to explain this behavior.

The **licensed on** date is usually the first day the license was activated, whereas the **service check date** indicates either the date you checked the license OR, if your support expired, the last day that the box was in support.

Are these VE’s or physical boxes? Did you perhaps add some license on the main unit that wasn’t added on the secondary unit?

These are physical boxes. I have not added the license but just reactivated it. Not sure why the licensed date is updated only on the active device.

Hi [nurairtt91](https://community.f5.com/users/nurairtt91/435430),

Run the next command to validate the real relicense date. In the license GUI, you will see the first activation date, not the reactivation date.

tmsh show sys license

Hope it works,
