Unable to download files greater than 4GB. Running version 15.1.5.1

Hi All,

Could you please let me know if there is any known bug in F5 BIG-IP version 15.1.5.1 related to downloading files larger than 4GB.

We are able to successfully download files up to 3.99GB, but anything over 4GB fails to even initiate.

We’ve already tried modifying both the TCP and HTTP profiles without success. Additionally, we tested the Unchunk and Rechunk options, but that did not resolve the issue either.

  • if you have HTTP Compression and/or Web Accelleration profiles in the vserver,
exclude the 4GB URL or its pattern in the profile config.

  • Hello abhinay

I was unable to locate a specific bug related to your issue, however, I did want to share with you our Upgrade Advisor where you can select the software version and product family, and it will generate any related bugs. I did also want to advise that version 15.1.x has reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) and that version 16.1.x is due to reach EoTS as of July 31st, 2025 so if you are planning to upgrade please keep that in mind.

  • Some more information; The PCAP shows a RST due to an HTTP chunk parse error.
