Terminal type? [xterm]

Not sure if this is the right forum for this query but apologies in advance if its not

 

 

I am trying to connect to a content switch (V4 OS) using key exchange to scp logs to a logging server. The key exchange works fine but i still get prompted for the terminal type:

 

 

Terminal type? [xterm]

 

 

This requires a manual entry is there any way to disable this prompt?

 

 

i have configured the .profile as follows:

 

 

TERM=xterm

 

export TERM

 

 

but i still get prompted from the terminal type (above)

 

 

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance
