Sample Rules

Hi all,

 

 

We're migrating from 4.x to 9.x and I'm currently working on the iRules. I'm currently hunting and pecking through the forum posts to find sample iRules to base mine from.

 

 

Question 1:

 

Is there a place on this page providing example iRules?

 

 

Question 2:

 

How reliable is the iRule migration tool?

 

 

Question 3:

 

Any other suggestions or recommended tools for the migration process?

    I'd start with the Wiki and specifically the CodeShare (Click here) section for various example iRules.

     

     

    Question 2:

     

    How reliable is the iRule migration tool?

     

     

    I can't speak for the reliability of the migration tool personally but I haven't heard too many issues with problems in the upgrade process. For the most part since the v4.x rules were fairly limited, conversion is almost always a simple process once you get the ins-and-outs of the 9.x syntax.

     

     

    Question 3:

     

    Any other suggestions or recommended tools for the migration process?

     

     

    Just start looking at the samples in the CodeShare section of the wiki as well as in the the iRules tech tips. The indiviual wiki pages for the commands typically have sample code in them as well.
