I am using the BigIP to just redirect. My users will in the browser put http://abc-abc.abc.com my redirect states
redirect to "http://xyc/xyc/%u"
so in the Users window they are now seein...

CirrostratusAs you found, if you send a 302 redirect back to the browser, the browser will make a request to the resource and update the address bar.
To avoid the redirect and rewrite the requested URI on the BIG-IP you would need to use 9.x iRules. Rewriting the URI isn't possible in 4.x iRules.
If your BIG-IP is a supported platform and has an F5 support contract, you could upgrade to 9.x.
