packaging with SMS for rollout

Is there a way to package the SSL VPN Client install in SMS for deployment? I know it is a clientless configuration but I am getting questioned by the desktop team on being able to package the activex, etc., to our end users with SMS. Please respond.

    Yes, all of the Active X components (ones you select) can be packaged and distributed with SMS. To do this go to the Device Management : Client Downloads : Windows (x86)page in your admin console, and select the components you wish to distribute. Next make any customizations to the VPN Client (assuming you want a full blown Windows Client) You can select to not install or configure the "Windows Logon Integration" which allows creating Network Access connection by dialing a phonebook entry nor the "FirePass Windows Client" if you want to maintain as "clientless" a configuration as possible.

     

     

    The last tab on this screen "Download" provides the means to create a distributable client package which contains all of the components and settings you chose in the previous step.

     

     

    Your SMS or packaging team should know how to work with the package created by the firepass for an automated client distribution. Hope this helps.
