Nov 05, 2010My ASM 4100 platform unexpectedly reboots
Hello,
My ASM 4100 platform (standalone) experiences an unexpected reboot (it happens every 10 pings) with the following error messages :
"CPU 0: Machine Check Exception: 0000000000000004
Bank 4: f655200134080813 at 0000000008cd5b00
Kernel panic: CPU context corrupt"
In the GUI, the error message was : "Configuration Utility Restarting"
My problem is similar to a known issue (SOL6580) except that it shoud not happen on a 4100 platform. The fix is apparently a BIG-IP BIOS update...
I can't connect via the console* and I am therefore restricted to SSH/HTTPS access whith a time limit of 10 pings which is very short...
(*) 19200/9600 baud, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, No parity, No flow control
I am thinking of the following solutions :
- turning off for 45 min (cool down)
- reseting to factory default
- reinstalling the software
Could you help me ?
Regards,
Vincent

Hi Vincent,
If you haven't already, I'd suggest running the end user diagnostic to see if there are any hardware issues with the unit. If that passes, then reinstalling the OS would be a good next step.
