how does gtm/dns monitor wild-ip pool members?
hi, can someone please advise how gtm/dns monitor wild-ip pool members? what is the interval of probe ? I am running tcpdump to capture the probe traffics, but nothing is captured after running tcpdump 30 mins. The tcpdump command is shown as below.
tcpdump -ni any host 10.10.20.21
10.10.20.21 is pool member (VS) IP address. This member status is shown online.
Please help to advise, thanks in advance.

It really depends on which system is running the health checks. With iQuery other GTM's can be delegated to run probes as well as LTM systems. You may also want to check your prober pool setup if you have it configured. Configuring Device-Specific Probing and Statistics Collection

Thanks Jeffrey_Granier for your advice. The pool member is a Virtual server configured on a remote side LTM. This remote LTM and Wild-IP pool is learning through remote DNS/GTM which is in the same sync group. The doc you shared is about data center/server monitoring only, right? Regarding remote Wild-IP pool member monitoring, local DNS sends the probe directly to this pool member or get the pool member status via Sync group monitoring?

hi Jeffrey_Granier , no prober pool is configured on our local DNS. And heath monitor is not configuration when click "Wild-IP" --> " Pool" --> click the pool" Pool xxx", under the field "Health Monitor" , no monitoring method is specified! This pool is learned via dns sync-group from remote DNS/GTM. Please advise how local DNS monitor the remote wild-ip pool status. Thanks in advance!

Global Traffic Manager (GTM)/DNS monitoring of Wild-IP pool members involves using various health-checking and monitoring techniques to ensure that IPs in a pool are responsive and able to handle traffic effectively. Wild-IP pools refer to IP pools where the exact identity of members may not be pre-defined or fixed, and they can dynamically change.

Thanks waqas34 for your advice ! Based on my description of our setup, what the method the local DNS uses to monitoring the remote wild-ip pool member ? The member IP is fixed, and tried to use tcpdump to capture the monitoring probe, but nothing was captured, don't know how locl DNS monitor the pool members. Please advise, if you need more info about our setup/config, I can provide, thanks in advance!

Thanks JoseLabra for your kind advice. It seems we need to turn on the gtm debug , then know which dns/gtm is monitoring wideIP pool members, right? a bit complicated, please advise, thanks.
