Cannot login to LTM via console

Hi,

 

 

We are not able to login to the LTM box via console...looks like we ve lost.forgotten the login password.

 

 

Any ideas here how to recover the password or restore the ltm to factory default settings.

 

 

basically, requirement is to clear the current config from the ltm box to its default settings.

    Hi genseek,

     

     

    Try searching on AskF5 for "reset root password" or "factory defaults" for the LTM version the unit is running.

     

     

    SOL13121 - Changing system maintenance account passwords (11.x)

     

    SOL3350 - Changing system maintenance account passwords (9.x - 10.x)

     

     

    SOL13127 - Restoring the BIG-IP configuration to factory default settings (11.x)

     

    SOL10519 - Restoring the BIG-IP configuration to factory default settings (10.x)

     

    SOL7550 - Restoring the BIG-IP configuration to factory default settings (9.3.x - 9.4.x)

    Thanks for the reply Aaron...but we do not have access to LTM at all....i.e LTM prompt is not accessible as password is lost.

     

     

    The links that you ve sent seek to execute cmds via ltm prompt..which we do not have access to..and precisely for this reason we are looking for some other means to reset the device to its original settings.

    The instructions for resetting the root password include how to boot into single user mode and update the password. You'll need serial access, but not the root password to do this.
