ASM Best practices - Signature set

Hey everyone,

I know that many people talked about that in others articles but i wouldlike to get more informations and to be sure that i understood pretty well.

I attached the Generic Detection signature set and i have some Server Technologies signature sets. 

What i want to know is :

should i attached the signature set listed in the document attached? Their type is attack type specific. If yes, what's the impact for the physical equipement ?
